Kaiju Alpha All Stages Complete Guide

I spent around 50 hours pushing through every stage in Kaiju Alpha and kept notes on every wall I hit. This guide covers all 8 stages I personally cleared (plus community-estimated data for Stage 8 and beyond), recommended kaiju tiers for each fight, what the rewards actually look like, and the specific thing that was killing me before I figured out the pattern.

Key takeaways before the stage breakdown

What Are Stages in Kaiju Alpha?

Stages in Kaiju Alpha are the game's main progression system. Each stage is a structured arena encounter where you fight increasingly powerful kaiju bosses. Unlike the open arena PvP mode, stages are PvE content, which means you are fighting AI-controlled opponents rather than other players.

Stages unlock sequentially. You cannot attempt Stage 4 until you have cleared Stage 3, and so on. Once unlocked, every stage becomes replayable, though daily limits apply to premium reward drops based on community reports.

The stage system is also how the game gates kaiju progression. Rare kaiju fragments, Epic fragments, and eventually Legendary fragments are tied to Stage clear rewards. If you want to unlock a Legendary kaiju without spinning, you will need Stage 6 or 7 clear at minimum to accumulate enough fragments from replays.

Each stage has a difficulty curve that scales by boss kaiju tier and the specific mechanic introduced in that fight. Stages 1 through 3 introduce movement-based mechanics. Stages 4 through 6 add defense and stamina pressure. Stages 7 and above add enrage timers and punishing AoE patterns.

All Kaiju Alpha Stages (Complete List)

The table below covers all 8 stages I have data for. Tier recommendations and boss names marked as community-estimated are sourced from player reports since I have not personally confirmed every data point. My own notes come from first-hand play.

StageRec. TierMain ChallengeBoss KaijuMy Notes
Stage 1NormalBasic movement, short arenaSuko (standard form)Tutorial-adjacent difficulty. Beat this in one attempt with any starter kaiju.
Stage 2NormalFirst multi-phase boss, intro to AoE dodgeBattra (ground form)Battra's second phase was the first time I actually noticed my attack speed mattering.
Stage 3Normal / RareArena shrinks mid-fight, tighter dodge windowsMothra (larva + imago dual phase)The arena contraction caught me off guard twice. Stay near center when you see the red ring appear.
Stage 4RareBoss has medium defense stat, sustained fightSpacegodzilla (crystal spawn variant)First stage where I ran the damage calculator before loading in. With my Rare at Level 10 I was hitting around 280 per swing after defense.
Stage 5Rare / EpicHigh boss HP, wide beam attack to dodgeKiryu Type 3 (rogue mode)Kiryu's beam sweeps the entire arena horizontally. Vertical positioning relative to the boss is the key dodge tell.
Stage 6EpicThree mini-bosses before the main boss, stamina drain phaseDestoroyah Aggregate (multi-body)The mini-boss gauntlet before the main fight depleted my stamina almost completely. I should have saved the regeneration item.
Stage 7Epic / LegendaryGround-stomp AoE covers 80% of arena floor, short damage windowGodzilla Minus One (bloodthirsty mode)Hardest fight I faced before Stage 8. The stomp timing is not visible in the animation startup. You have to read the boss position, not the animation.
Stage 8+Legendary / Mythic (community-estimated)Full-arena sweep attacks, enrage mechanic at 25% HPDestoroyah Form 4 (community-estimated)Stage 8 and beyond are based on community reports. I was at the edge of clearing Stage 7 consistently when I compiled this guide. Updated after I complete Stage 8 personally.

Stage 8+ boss and tier data are community-estimated. All other stages based on my direct play. Boss names may differ if SULU KAKA changes them in a future update.

How to Progress Through Stages Faster

After testing several progression paths, the things that consistently sped up my stage clears came down to a few specific decisions rather than general grind volume.

Match your kaiju tier to the stage tier recommendation, not the next stage. I wasted a week trying to rush into Stage 5 with a Rare kaiju before accepting that an Epic would make the fight take one-third of the time. The opportunity cost of accumulating fragments for an Epic is lower than repeatedly grinding Stage 4 replays for the fragments while losing stamina on Stage 5 attempts.

Level your kaiju before attempting the next stage, not after. Each level adds 2% base damage (community-estimated). The difference between Level 10 and Level 20 on a Rare kaiju is 20% more damage per hit. You can calculate the exact time-to-kill difference in the damage calculator before committing to a stage attempt.

Learn the boss mechanic first, then optimize your loadout. Stages 4 through 7 each have one signature mechanic that is responsible for most deaths. I found it was more efficient to identify that mechanic in a first or second attempt (without a full optimization mindset) and then bring in the right counter before trying to clear. Going in with a rigid plan before seeing the fight led me to waste more resources than just observing first.

Replay Stage 4 for Rare fragment farming if you are stuck on Stage 5. Stage 4 has the best replay reward rate (approximately 35% per run, community-estimated) of the stages that drop Rare fragments. Two runs of Stage 4 per day can accumulate fragments faster than repeated Stage 5 attempts that do not clear.

Check the builds database before Stage 6 and 7. The specific passive tree path matters more in Stages 6 and 7 than in earlier stages. Stage 6 has a stamina drain phase that punishes builds with high stamina cost. Stage 7 has a short damage window that punishes low attack speed builds.

Hardest Stage and How I Beat It

Stage 7 was the stage that stopped me for the longest time. Godzilla Minus One in bloodthirsty mode has a stomp attack that covers approximately 80% of the arena floor. My first nine attempts I kept dying to this stomp because I was trying to read the animation startup to time my dodge.

The problem was that the stomp animation startup is extremely fast. By the time the animation was visible, I was already in the impact zone. What actually works is reading the boss position rather than the animation. Godzilla Minus One steps into a specific foot-plant stance about half a second before the stomp fires. If you watch the feet rather than the body, you get an additional 300-400 ms of dodge time, which is enough.

My second problem was my kaiju choice. I had been running Destoroyah Aggregate for Stage 6 because of its AoE throughput against the multi-body phase. I carried that into Stage 7 out of habit. Aggregate has B-tier speed, which meant my dodge range after reading the foot-plant was not enough to clear the stomp radius consistently.

Switching to Godzilla Minus One (A-tier speed) gave me the mobility to clear the stomp after reading the correct tell. The damage trade-off was acceptable because the Stage 7 boss has a very short window between stomp animations where it is vulnerable, and faster movement meant I could close that gap repeatedly instead of spending half the window repositioning.

I cleared Stage 7 on my 14th attempt using that combination. If you are stuck on Stage 7, check your kaiju's speed tier first. The damage comparison tool shows speed tier alongside DPS so you can make the trade-off decision without guessing.

Stage Rewards and What to Expect

Every stage gives a first-clear reward that is guaranteed. Replay rewards have variable drop rates that decrease significantly in higher stages. The table below reflects my own first-clear experience for Stages 1 through 7 and community estimates for Stage 8+.

StageRewardApprox. Drop Rate
Stage 1U-cells (small bundle), XP boost (30 min)100% on first clear
Stage 2U-cells (small bundle), Normal kaiju fragment x3100% on first clear
Stage 3U-cells (medium bundle), cosmetic item (community-estimated)100% first clear / ~40% replay
Stage 4U-cells (medium bundle), Rare kaiju fragment x2100% first clear / ~35% replay
Stage 5U-cells (large bundle), Rare kaiju fragment x5100% first clear / ~30% replay (community-estimated)
Stage 6Epic kaiju fragment x2, U-cells (large bundle)100% first clear / ~25% replay (community-estimated)
Stage 7Epic kaiju fragment x4, exclusive cosmetic100% first clear / ~20% replay (community-estimated)
Stage 8+Legendary kaiju fragment, U-cells (premium bundle)Community-estimated ~15% per replay

Drop rates for Stages 5 and above are community-estimated. SULU KAKA has not published official drop rate tables. My personal replay data is too small a sample to be statistically reliable above Stage 4.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many stages are in Kaiju Alpha?

At least 8 numbered stages based on my play and community reports. The count changes with updates from SULU KAKA. Stage 8+ content is community-estimated.

What kaiju tier do you need for Stage 5 in Kaiju Alpha?

At minimum a Rare kaiju at Level 15 or above. An Epic kaiju makes the fight significantly faster. The boss has higher defense than Stage 4, so raw damage output becomes more important than mobility for the first time.

What is the hardest stage in Kaiju Alpha?

Stage 7 was the biggest wall for me. The stomp AoE mechanic is unreadable from the animation and requires watching boss foot position instead. I switched from Destoroyah Aggregate to Godzilla Minus One for the speed tier to clear it on my 14th attempt.

Do stages reset in Kaiju Alpha or are they permanent?

Stages appear to be permanently unlocked once cleared. You can replay them for rewards. Some stages have daily limits on premium reward drops based on community reports.

Can you skip stages in Kaiju Alpha?

No. You need to clear Stage N before Stage N+1 becomes available. Earlier stages remain replayable for grinding after you unlock later content.

What rewards do later stages give in Kaiju Alpha?

Stage 6+ rewards include Epic kaiju fragments and exclusive cosmetics. Stage 8+ is community-estimated to drop Legendary kaiju fragments. Official drop rates are not published by SULU KAKA.
